  • Day 1 - Arrive  Kilimanjaro International airport,  meet and transfer to Bristol Cottages Hotel for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 2 - After breakfast transfers to Marangu gate and after formalities, start the climb through rain forest for about 3 – 4 hours to Mandara hut 2,700m for lunch. Afternoon tour Maundi  crater. Dinner and overnight at Mandara hut.
  • Day 3 - Early Rise and climb through more forest and across open moorland for about 6 – 7 hours with picnic lunch to Horombo hut at 3,720m for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 4 - Acclimatization at Horombo hut with full board stay.
  • Day 5 - Climb through the saddle lying between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks for about 3 – 4 hours to Kibo hut at 4,703m for lunch. Afternoon rest for the final ascent. Dinner and overnight at kibo hut.
  • Day 6 - Rise shortly after midnight and climb for 6 – 7 hours to Gilman’s point at 5,685m on the crater rim and watch dawn break. Continue round the rim for another 1 – 2 hours to Uhuru peak at 5,895m, after photo session, descend to Kibo hut for lunch. Descend further to Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 7 - This is the last day on the mountain, descend to Mandara hut for lunch, then descend further to Marangu gate, after presentation of certificates, transfer to Bristol Cottages for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 8 - Transfer to the airport for flight home OR start a safari program in Tanzania or fly to Zanzibar for beach and diving holiday.

The cost includes:

  • Transfer to and from Marangu before and after the climb.
  • Accommodation before and after the climb on half board basis plus lunch on the last day before going to  the airport.
  • Park, hut, rescue fees.
  • Professional guides, porters, cook.
  • All food during the climb
  • Bottled water 1.5Lt on the first day of the climb only as during the climb they will be given boiled water for drinking.
  • Local Amref insurance


Not included are:

  • Tips for the transfer driver and mountain crew. Recommended tipping guidelines is professional guide $10 per day, assistant guide $8 per day, porters/cook  each $5 per day. These are just recommendations but tipping is at the discretion of the client.
  • Climbing gear including sleeping bags
  • Drinks in the hotel
  • Visa
  • International flight ticket or domestic flight.
  • Any other item of personal nature.

Holiday surcharge for December 24, 25, 26, 31st and January 1st. For Ganako they charge $ 50 per person per night while Serengeti Kati Kati charges $35 per person per night while Ganako charges $ 50 per person per night.


There are several route to the peak of Kilimanjaro, this quote is based on the Cocacola route, for other routes ask for prices.
