Tropical rainforests with rare native birds and spectacular waterfalls ... pristine beaches ... and world-class coral reefs await you at Nakia Resort & Dive. Intimate and family-owned, Nakia is the only eco resort on Taveuni Island; and consistently rated highly in reviews of resorts in the entire South Pacific.
Nakia also is the only resort on Taveuni with family-operated diving, snorkeling and adventure programs. Through Taveuni Ocean Sports at Nakia, the owners' daughter Julie and partner Aaron together with local divemasters, offer the most comprehensive diving program available on the island, serving first–time divers through divers seeking Advanced Open Water PADI certification. Taveuni Ocean Sports at Nakia also offers snorkeling, surfing and boating, using a meticulously maintained 10–meter (34–foot) custom aluminum dive catamaran. After a full day, guests may relax at Nakia's lavish 12–meter (40–foot) fresh–water swimming pool - the largest on Taveuni Island - and enjoy fresh organic food at Nakia’s fine Cliffhouse Restaurant.
Nakia Resort & Dive is extraordinarily appealing to nature lovers, families and divers. The resort occupies ten spectacular acres of tropical gardens, surrounded by forest, with an ocean view unrivaled anywhere in the world. Nakia's pristine setting is between the two small towns on Taveuni with the island's other resorts and shops. This rural location means that Nakia's guests fully experience nature in a serene and expansive setting of exceptional beauty. Yet Taveuni's towns and hidden beaches are just a short bike ride away, using the resort's complimentary deluxe mountain bikes.
Nakia is intimate and private with just four bures (Fijian cottages), accommodating 10 guests. Each bure has a veranda and hammock, overlooking the Somosomo Strait and Rainbow Reef. Bures have bathrooms with showers, on-demand hot water, 24-hour 240 volt power, daily maid service, and ample beach and bath towels.
They are furnished with:
As an eco resort, Nakia offers a comfortable and relaxing environment using the sustainable, natural energy of the sun, wind, and water. The resort's water is from artesian springs and fresh organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers grow year-round on site. This combination of sustainable features is unique among Fiji resorts.
