Timothy Beach Resort

St. Kitts, Caribbean

The island of St. Kitts was discovered in 1493 by Christopher Columbus who named the island St. Christopher after himself.  St. Kitts and the neighboring island of Nevis have long had the reputation of quiet Caribbean islands.  That may be slightly changing, as St. Kitts has opened a new cruise ship terminal.  St. Kitts and Nevis are only about 2 miles apart, yet they have different personalities.  St. Kitts is the larger of the 2 and has a higher population.  The capitol, Basseterre, is the center for shopping and dining.  On Nevis, you will find the small town of Charlestown, and velvet monkeys tend to outnumber people!

Timothy Beach Resort is the only hotel located directly on the Caribbean in beautiful Frigate Bay – an area typically reserved for luxury homes and resorts.  Guests can choose from 55 hotel rooms, 1 bedroom Suites, 2 bedroom Suites, or 2 bedroom townhouses.  All rooms are freshly decorated and each feature spacious tiled balconies, the perfect place to take in the incredible Caribbean sunsets.  Condominium suites and studios also have full kitchens and living/dining areas.  The Deluxe 1 bedroom suites now feature luxurious Kittitian Rainforest showers.

Timothy Beach features a tiled ocean front swimming pool that is private for guests.  The is one of the best vantage points on Frigate Bay, featuring expansive views of the Caribbean and the beach below.  An 18-hole professional golf course is located nearby, as well as tennis courts.  The front desk can arrange a rental car to reach these or for those who want to get out an explore the island of St. Kitts.  A highlight is Brimstone Hill, which stands at 800 feet above sea level and is a massive fortress.  Guests can take in incredible views of Nevis, Saba, St. Martin, and St. Bart from here.  The fortress sprawls over 38 acres and is defended by seven-foot-thick walls of black volcanic stone.  There are a variety of shopping options – you will find stores and gift boutiques throughout town.  Many produce their own locally crafted items, including pottery, crafts, wood carvings, clothing, jewelry, furniture, paintings, and more!  For those looking for a bit of adventure, there are quite a few island tour options – including hiking through the rain forest to the volcano (inactive) on St. Kitts.

Pro Divers St Kitts has been providing exceptional service to those who wish to explore St. Kitts below the surface for 32 years.  The waters offshore are home to many different types of fish including Barracuda, Snapper, Kingfish, Dorado, Wahoo, Flying Fish, and more!  Many of the fish find home on the man made reefs such as old freighters and wrecked ships.    Pro Divers can take you to over 25 dive sites, which means there is something here for everyone!  One of the more popular wreck sites is the M/V Talata Wreck, which is an old freighter that was sunk due to a hurricane in 1983.  The wreck rests on a reef, is totally upright and faces east across the harbor.  Divers often spot over sized lobsters and green moray eels, as well as schools of squirrel fish and yellow tail snapper.
