Bohio Resort & Oasis Divers
Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos, Caribbean
The old island name “Bohio” means “home”. Come; let us make our Bohio your very own, home from home.
Bohio resort offers Caribbean diving or beach holidays with a difference. You’re guaranteed a friendly and personal service, and a diving experience that will feel like a real vacation, not a boot camp. Situated on the best diving beach in the world, as voted by a popular men’s magazine, on the leeward side of this quaint Caribbean island.
The resorts food is unrivalled on the island, the ocean views idyllic and the atmosphere laid back. At Bohio you’ll find icing sugar white sand, tropical turquoise waters and as much tranquility or adventure as you care to seek. Dive or snorkel from the boat or right off the beach, just a few steps from your room. Then lounge with a cocktail or take one of our yoga classes as the magical Caribbean sunset lights up the evening sky.
You’ll find everything you need for your dream vacation at Bohio, whatever the time of year. This intimate resort offers sixteen rooms, all with beachfront views and terraces. And the only resort on Grand Turk, offering accommodation, diving, bars, activities and the best restaurant on the island, all on one beachfront site. Enjoy Caribbean sailing or kayaking, as well as scuba diving and snorkeling, with instruction and guiding from qualified staff for any level – beginner to advanced.
Grand Turk is consistently ranked among the top diving destinations in the world, notably for its spectacular wall diving. Grand Turk is surrounded by marine reserves, historical wrecks and fascinating wildlife, including rare black coral, giant manta rays, turtles, sharks, dolphins and humpback whales. The resort also runs boat trips to other islands, whale-watching excursions (January – April) and day trips to encounter tame stingrays. The resort also offers fishing trips, with the chance to prepare your own catch under their chef’s expert guidance.
The Guanahani restaurant at Bohio resort is open daily to resort residents and non-residents alike, offering an imaginative fusion of wonderful fresh-caught local specialties and international flavors, complemented by an extensive wine list, fine Cuban cigars and Italian coffees and popular house specialty cocktails. Their popular Caribbean nights and weekly beach BBQs offer lobster in season and freshly caught fish, as well as the chance to spot our dive masters singing or playing in one of the local Grand Turk bands.
There’s plenty to explore outside the resort too, with charming Cockburn town just a walk along the shore. The region has a long history of colonial power struggles, pirates and slave ships, and was important for its cotton and salt trade. Some believe that Grand Turk was the site of Christopher Columbus’ first landfall in 1492. A national park on the island celebrates this claim. Now Grand Turk is the very essence of the dream Caribbean holiday, offering a relaxed and laid-back destination. It’s a peaceful haven for wildlife and water lovers, retaining all the sleepy charm of its colonial past, but coming alive at night, with its colorful beach bars and musical inhabitants.
