The island of Saba, known as the “Unspoiled Queen” of the Caribbean, is often described as having a fairytale quality – in the sense of being in a place where time has all but remained unchanged. You will find no franchised resorts, casinos, or shopping malls. You will however find natural beauty, a warm culture filled with friendly people, and a sense of tranquility and charm. Saba is also one of the safest islands in the Caribbean. Feel free to take a walk any time of day or night, and many locals even leave their doors unlocked.

Juliana’s Hotel is tucked in the hillside of the village of Windwardside, where you are a short walk to some of Saba’s finest restaurants, gift shops, museums, and more. You are also within walking distance of the Mount Scenery stairs, which will lead you to the highest point within the Dutch Kingdom at approximately (3000 feet). On clear days, you may be able to see the neighboring islands of St. Maarten, St. Barths, and St. Eustatius from this breathtaking vantage point.

Juliana’s Hotel offers a variety of accommodations for guests to choose from, ranging from garden-view rooms to fully equipped apartments. The Garden View rooms have semi-private balconies and two of them come equipped with a kitchenette. The Ocean View rooms feature a private balcony with a hammock. If you are looking for a little more space, Juliana’s Hotel offers 4 cottages – Flossie’s Cottage comes with an extensive deck area and Jacuzzi, Lily Pond Cottage which has an outdoor gazebo overlooking the ocean, Orchid Cottage features a spacious covered deck, and Mango Apartment which is surrounded by beautiful gardens and mango trees.

Guests do not have to travel far to eat some of the best Caribbean food Saba has to offer. Tropics Cafe is located on-site and its’ terrace dining room overlooks the pool with exquisite views in the backdrop. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and have an expansive drink menu. Guests can also enjoy the large swimming pool and relaxing Jacuzzi.

Saba’s beauty extends below the turquoise waters of the Caribbean into an exciting marine environment rich in corals and active with a variety of fish life. Every skill level can enjoy diving in Saba as dive sites range from pinnacles plunging to 100ft and below to shallow dives in the abundant reef systems. Sea Saba Dive Center is located 15 minutes away from Juliana’s Hotel, at Fort Bay Harbor. Sea Saba is a PADI 5-Star Dive Center, and they pride themselves on being an excellent dive operation. One of Saba’s attractions is that there is a wide range of sites without the long boat rides. The experienced crew can take you to over 30 dive sites throughout the Saba Marine Park – one of the few self-sustaining marine parks in the world. During the summer months, the water stays comfortably in the upper 80s, while the winter months usually hover in the higher 70s. This allows diving virtually year-round. Sea Saba takes you to these dive sites on one of three boats, Shark Bait, Northern Sky, and Giant Stride. The boats are rated for more divers than Sea Saba will actually take out on them, which means plenty of space for you and your gear. Each boat provides plenty of shade, wind protection, ample seating, gear storage, hanging facilities, fresh water showers, camera bins, drinking water and lemonade, and cold storage for lunches.
